Ultrasonic monitoring of pipelines of the coastal section of the Nord Stream 2

The laboratory for Non-destructive testing of  ECHOPLUS LTD performed work on mechanized ultrasonic inspection of ring welded joints of the onshore section of the Nord Stream - 2 pipeline.

Ultrasonic inspection of welds was carried out according to a certified control method using the FR and TOFD methods implemented in the AUGUR TF automated ultrasonic inspection system.

The control was carried out instead of the X-ray inspection in order to accelerate construction and installation work and reduce the preparation time for the commissioning of the pipeline.
